Toby hails from Birmingham, England, establishing himself as our resident “Englishman in New York” and has been building websites and web applications since 1996. Beginning with static HTML websites, he moved into data-driven and dynamic web applications using PHP. He went back to school in 2002 earning an AAS in Information Technology (Web Development). During this time he picked up the ASP (Active Server Pages) scripting language, shortly thereafter followed by CFML (ColdFusion). These days Toby can be found crafting themes and plugins for WordPress. Along with the server scripting languages, he is also proficient in database functionality with SQL, client-side scripting with JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Work with payment gateways, remote APIs, and other data-related services are all within the scope of daily happenings. Linux server management and website security and performance optimization are also important skills he possesses and serve well for our client websites.

With a number of Webby Awards for websites developed in a cooperative team with creative designers and other Overit team members, Toby is an invaluable member and resource within the Development Team, joining our ranks in 2016.

Some of the projects he has spearheaded in development in the past 5 years include Proctors Theatre and the Olympic Regional Development Authority, along with many others.

When not in front of a computer Toby enjoys spending time with his wife, JoAnn, and their two daughters, Charlotte and Lucinda “Lucy.” Weekend trips to find waterfalls and hiking, spending a day on Lake George, and traveling to new places are never too far from reality. Formula One motor-racing and Manchester United football as both sporting passions, with Toby one day seeking to see both live!
