Tangerine Tango? Why Yes, I’ll Dance.

As someone who is passionate about color and a sucker for beauty products, the collaboration of Sephora and Pantone has me quite excited!

Color is an essential and powerful tool in communication. It provokes an emotional response and provides context and identity to a brand, a message, or an idea. The colors you love sephora1are a strong testimonial of who you are and bringing those colors into your daily life is the ultimate form of self-expression.

That is why Pantone, the author of the universal color language, created Pantone Universe. Already a design industry standard in color reproduction, they have delved into a design-led collection of paint colors and home accessories. It only seems natural for them to take the next step into the beauty industry.

Fashion and beauty have always been at the forefront of setting standards for color trends. These trends permeate into advertising, home decor and even the food and beverage industry. Now, with their combination of expertise, Sephora + Pantone Universe are set to become beauty’s leading authority on color.

Pantone’s Color of the Year: Tangerine Tango is described as “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive… reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.” With that kind of description, how can you not love it?!

As a designer who utilizes the power of color everyday, I continue to look to Pantone for inspiration, new trends and innovative ways to incorporate color into my daily life. So this spring, I will embrace the Color of the Year and sport my new lipstick in Tangerine Tango!
