Senior Account Manager
Client-Facing | Hybrid (Albany, NY)
As part of a growing, collaborative team of creative and marketing professionals, the Senior Account Manager is the primary steward of client success and a key driver of long-term agency partnerships.
This role owns the strategic relationship with clients – guiding direction, defining success, and ensuring work delivered by internal teams aligns with client objectives, business goals, and agreed-upon scope. The Senior Account Manager partners closely with Project Management, Strategy, Creative, Media, and Production to ensure clarity, momentum, and accountability across all client engagements.
- Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for assigned clients, building trusted, long-term relationships rooted in strong counsel, reliability, and results.
- Partner with senior leaders and strategists to develop, present, and implement multi-channel marketing strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Act as the champion of client success, maintaining a CMO-level mindset and defining success metrics tied to client health, growth, and retention.
- Translate client business goals into clear strategic direction for internal teams, ensuring alignment from planning through execution.
- Oversee client onboarding, establishing strategic foundations, success criteria, and expectations for ongoing engagement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Creative, Digital, Media, and Production teams to ensure work is strategically sound, well-scoped, on time, and within budget.
- Lead the development and presentation of Statements of Work (SOWs), project briefs, marketing plans, media plans, messaging frameworks, and other client-facing deliverables.
- Identify risks, scope changes, and strategic gaps early, working in partnership with Project Management to address issues before they impact client confidence or delivery.
- Manage client budgets in collaboration with Project Management and Production, ensuring scope adherence, visibility into overages, and alignment with SOPs.
- Advocate for client needs internally while balancing scope, timelines, team capacity, and agency priorities.
- Contribute to agency growth by identifying opportunities within existing client relationships, developing proposals, and supporting new business efforts as needed.
- Maintain a strong understanding of client industries, market dynamics, and emerging marketing, media, and digital trends to inform strategy and recommendations.
- Identify potential project challenges and quickly resolve problems, using project management expertise and communications/advertising/digital knowledge
- Work with production to develop and manage project budgets including review and identification of any overages, timelines and SOPs for client work.
- Build and maintain relationships with issue area experts and organizations, media contacts and internal business partners to meet client needs and achieve project objectives
- Actively participate in new business efforts for the firm including developing new business opportunities with existing clients, writing proposals and delivering presentations
- Clearly communicate the progress of creative, production, and media initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
- Stay informed on client industries and issues as well as the latest developments in advertising, marketing, and media technologies, strategies, and platforms
- Have in depth digital, media, and marketing consultation knowledge with insights & analytics
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients, addressing questions, concerns, and changes with clarity and professionalism.
- Demonstrate strong judgment in complex or ambiguous situations, balancing client advocacy with operational realities.
- Promote collaboration and accountability across internal teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Contribute ideas and perspectives that improve client experience, internal workflows, and agency effectiveness.
- Represent Overit professionally in all client interactions, meetings, and industry engagements.

- 5+ years of experience in an advertising or marketing agency environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a strategic account management or client leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships, scopes, budgets, and strategic marketing programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and confidently to clients and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- Monday–Friday, with a minimum of three days in-office at Overit and two days remote (WFH). This role supports standard business hours, with flexibility as needed to meet project deadlines and client needs.
