Watch Now: The Inside Scoop: How to Get Press Coverage

Have you ever wondered how news stories get told? Or why some stories make the cut, and others don’t?

Join us for a webinar happening Thursday, February 18. Featuring three all-stars from the journalism world: @Karen Tararache, Senior Managing Editor at @Spectrum News Capital Region, @David Lombardo of @WCNYCONNECTED @The Capitol Pressroom, and our very own @Leanne Ricchiuti, Overit’s Public Relations Account Executive, formerly an assignment editor with Spectrum News Capital Region.

Learn why “morning meetings” are important, and how social media and digital mediums are shaping today’s newsrooms.

About the Panelists:

Karen Tararache, Senior Managing Editor at Spectrum News Capital Region, manages a team of over a dozen reporters and multimedia journalists. Most recently, she was a reporter and anchor at our local NBC affiliate, @WNYT NewsChannel 13, for nearly 5 years, shaping our stories and sharing them with the community.

David Lombardo is host of @WCNY’S @The Capitol Pressroom, a daily public radio program that focuses on state government and politics. Before audibly telling stories about politics and legislation, he was the Capitol Reporter for the Times Union, and a politics reporter at the Schenectady Daily Gazette. His experience working as a communications professional in various governmental roles has also enabled him to see both sides of telling a truthful story.

Leanne Ricchiuti, Overit’s Public Relations Account Executive. She is responsible for getting the word about Overit clients. Before joining the agency world, she spent a decade shaping stories for Spectrum News Capital Region, where she learned the elements of a successful story. Now, she consistently secures over a million dollars in earned media for her clients, all over New York State.

Paul Fahey, is Vice President of Strategy and Communications at Overit. He brings to Overit a rich and diverse background in account management, production, and creative. With almost 30 years of experience in nearly every area of marketing and advertising, he boasts a vast array of expertise to his clients.
