Matt Smith earned a BSEE from Clarkson University. He started out developing Automation Control Systems in the Automotive Industry. Most of that work was focused on increasing efficiencies in manufacturing processes. Regardless of whether it was cost, quantity, or quality we strove to improve it all. It was this work that first got him involved with programming as he developed Human Machine Interfaces. Working on large complex technical projects helped him recognize his strength in being able to take technical concepts and communicate them effectively with all people involved, regardless of their technical acumen.

Matt’s Automotive Engineering work eventually took him to Nagoya, Japan where he started a joint US/Japanese manufacturing facility. Beyond the amazing cultural experience, the lessons he learned there, including a difficult foreign language, and having to integrate Japanese cultural values into his professional work, only further strengthened his ability to communicate and listen to his clients.

He has since worked in both development and digital marketing roles continuing to gain experience and build knowledge on all things digital. His passion for data analysis, platform connectivity, and automating routine tasks combine with his knowledge to solve client problems on a daily basis.

When not hard at work Matt can often be found outside challenging gravity or wind resistance by rock-climbing, snowboarding, biking, or wakeboarding.
