Got a Product or Company Launch?

From a 3-D prototype to a functioning product on sale at Apple stores nationwide, Overitʼs PR division was instrumental in the launch of this innovative panoramic video company. In one year, Kogeto achieved more press coverage than most start-ups in a lifetime. More than 253 articles were secured, ranging from CNN and Entrepreneur to Forbes, that have helped make Kogeto the number one selling panoramic video tool. Overit-led strategies for TechCrunch Disrupt, CES Las Vegas and SXSW provided ample opportunities to grow both press coverage and consumer interest. As one of the most successful Kickstarter projects of all time, Kogeto is an example of keeping a product and a companyʼs recognition alive throughout all stages of its growth.

4.5 Stars for Overit and 7th Gear in the Apple Store

In collaboration with technical solution provider 7th Gear, Overit designed one of the most popular calculator apps for the iPhone and iPad on the market today. From conceptual design to launch, Overit built an intuitive and visually-stunning interface that provides better functionalities than other apps on the market, including the capability to track prior equations. The design prioritizes cross-functionality enough to support both an academic and scientifically robust audience and the general consumer. Ratings and rave reviews have supported the Calculator and led to millions of downloads to date.

Wanova

How to Attract an Acquisition

On May 23, 2012, VMware, a leading voice in the desktop virtualization market, announced its acquisition of Wanova for a sum of close to $100M. Wanova attributes stellar Overit-led PR, analyst relations and social media to helping distinguish the service as a smarter alternative to VDI. In addition to securing more than 25 feature stories supporting Wanovaʼs value proposition, Overit led the design and development for a new Wanova.com. Articles at outlets such as Forbes, eWeek, BrianMadden.com and CRN Magazine attracted interested buyers and VC funding. Acquisition-related press headlines supported the move for VMware, recognizing the acquisition as a smart way to break into this innovative approach to desktop virtualization.

Catseye

Character Development & Commercial Spot

Catseye Pest Control is one of the most profitable businesses in our region, and in addition is one of the most marketing savvy. This particular project was the creation of 30 and 60-second commercial spots featuring enhanced 3-D mascot animation and story lines. Catseyeʼs “Caddie” mascot in the near future will be joined by two new cat hero characters – concepts that Overitʼs motion team created from sketch to full 3-D animated models. The catchy Catseye commercials now have more realistic rendering and a new bar set for quality and realism in character development. Catseye additionally works with Overit teams with regard to PPC, SEO, PR and social media work.

Silicon Valley-based imo.im is one of the most popular communications and IM platforms available for iPhone, Android, iPad, Blackberry and online users today. Dan
Dinsmore

Dan Dinsmore is the founder of Overit Media, with more than two decades of marketing and digital media experience. Dan has been instrumental in the perpetuating of marketing experimentation, keeping Overit on the cutting edge of trends and theory.

Dan has led Overit to hundreds of awards with the creation of some of the most innovative and creative brand projects at both the regional and national levels. He has overseen marketing platforms for major brands such as Trump, Nickelodeon, Catseye, Beech-Nut, Chicago Bulls, Albany Medical Center and CDPHP. Dan works on the overall mission of Overit from client mission to product development. He is a hands-on manager heavily involved in the production departments of Overit and instrumental in working on strategies for many of Overit’s clients.

As a Business Review’s 40 under 40 in 2009, Dan uses his business leadership to also advance the community. Dan serves on the board of the Albany Senior Services Group in addition to the Capital Region’s Entrepreneur’s Organization.

Michelle T.
Dinsmore

Michelle Toch-Dinsmore is the Vice President of Overit Media, and has been instrumental in growing the Overit brand into a multi-million dollar interactive agency. Michelle manages Overit's marketing and sales department, as well as overseeing account management and production. Michelle has more than two decades of marketing experience with companies like Borders, EMI and hundreds of music brands and headline acts.

In her spare time, Michelle is a mom of two beautiful children and enjoys cooking, antiquing and gardening aside from wine, concerts, stand up comedy and fashion. Michelle holds an MBA from UAlbany.

Lisa
Barone

Lisa is Vice President of Strategy at Overit where she serves on the senior staff overseeing the company’s marketing consulting, social media and content divisions. Known internationally for creating many of the best practices and strategies for social media, Lisa works with clients to create unified, mixed-media marketing strategies.

Prior to joining Overit, Lisa was Chief Branding Officer at Outspoken Media, a company she co-founded and grew into a leading national agency in just three years. Lisa has been a constant voice of insight and reason in the search world since 2006. As a noted search writer, she has founded and grown multiple blogs, all earning spots on AdAge’s Power 150, among other accolades. She has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Inc. Magazine, Reuters, Intuit, Forbes, PBS, FOX News and others on subjects related to small business marketing, social media and search marketing. She is also a contributor and Social Media Editor for SmallBizTrends.

In her spare time, Lisa takes advantage of the Capital District’s gorgeous natural backdrop by hiking, kayak and exploring whenever the weather allows.

Paul
Hook

Paul is a part of the business development team here at Overit. He's a decorated marketer, having worked with some of the state's top technology, economic development and higher education organizations. Over his 25-year career, he has been integral in growing agency teams and ensuring client retention.

Paul began his career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a Technical Illustrator and has worked in the creative field as a designer, art director, media buyer, financial coordinator, account executive and owner of his own freelance design studio. At his previous agency he was heavily involved in promoting the region for technology and semiconductor development, working with numerous economic development agencies to help recruit a chip fabrication plant to Tech Valley.

Paul works to find new opportunities for Overit, scanning the wires for projects and connecting with prospects old and new in search of the next engagement. No stranger to events, he enjoys networking and telling everyone he can about the great working being done at Overit.

Paul is involved with many community organizations, serving on numerous boards and committees throughout the region. He is a graduate of the Sage Colleges and is a past president and current board member of their alumni association. Paul was also a Business Review 40 under 40 in 2005.

Jeff
Lutz

Jeff Lutz leads the public relation team's enterprise practice as a Managing Director, providing counsel and strategy to clients. Jeff has a passion for reaching media with creative storylines that connect companies with their targeted audiences.

Bringing years of technology-focused PR experience and insight to the team, Jeff has worked with all sizes of companies from the entrepreneur with the innovative idea to the enterprise looking to open up new business channels, having previously provided media and public relations support on behalf of Microsoft. He joined our team following nearly five years serving technology clients at Airfoil Public Relations in Michigan.

Having a background in journalism, Jeff's approach to developing relationships has created opportunities for his clients from trade press to national media. He has landed coverage on behalf of his clients in ZDNet, TechCrunch, CRN and in eWeek. Jeff also enjoys using any social media channel necessary in order to engage in conversations with media.

A native of Detroit, in his spare time you may find him traveling around the region with his wife, or cheering on Syracuse, his alma mater.

Jen
Graybeal

Jen brings 13 years of experience to the Overit PR team, where she oversees the consumer tech practice as Managing Director. Guiding Overit's clients to national media success, Jen provides strategic council for clients while developing creative story angles that keep them in the news. In addition to securing top-tier press in CNN Money, Fast Company and Entrepreneur, Jen is passionate about all things tech, helping to launch new brands and creating opportunities for clients that lead to successful PR programs.

Prior to joining the Overit team, Jen was the lead media relations manager for LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, where she designed and managed all corporate and consumer public relations and marketing strategies. During her eight-year stint, Jen secured feature stories on the brand in magazines, newspapers, Internet, radio and national television. Preceding LUSH, she was essential in the growth of New York and LA-based PR agency Siren Public Relations where clients ranged from Benefit to TRESemme.

In her free time, Jen loves spending time with her husband and two sons.
